LUWINGU RESIDENTS CONVERGE FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT REVIEW MEETING

The country wide proposals and submissions in the ongoing Constitution Amendment Review have continued with stakeholders in Luwingu District converging in the Council Chamber to make suggestions to the Technical Committee.
Luwingu Senior Citizen Edmond Kabungo, has submitted that Lubansenshi constituency be delimitated into two constituents and should be as follows, Luwingu Central Constituency and Lubansenshi Constituency respectively.
Mr. Kabungo who is also Information and Publicity Secretary for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in Luwingu, also proposed that the term of office for members of parliament (MP) be reduced to only two, translating into a maximum of 10 years.
Mr. Kabungo made the said proposals virtually via a video conference in the Council Chamber.
The countrywide Constitution Amendment review meeting in Luwingu concluded at 19: 00hours with Luwingu District recording 7 written and three oral submissions. Members of the General Public were also opportune to submit their suggestions online on https://constitution.gov
